Description: #bots - Source Code
Several of you may be familiar with #bots on GameSurge, and also #clanbots. They differ greatly being that (when I last check) bots runs a service coded entirely in mIRC and clanbots uses TCL based eggdrops. Anyways, the development of the service used by BotNetwork was headed by myself in my earlier days of scripting (some 11 months after I figured out how to use the internet) and I recently came across the set of scripts they use on my harddrive.
With their consent, and the approval of a few others I plan to make it open source; mind you my coding was rather sloppy and all around jumbled at that point and time.
[EDIT]
After some time and discussion with several members of the GameSurge community, I've decided to postpone the release of this service. For many reasons, of which the most important are listed below.
1. The service allows for a botnet which may plague GameSurge
2. Users may take it upon themself to use this as a method of collecting user information, email, passwords etc... and pawing them to third party advertising sources. The point here is no one likes spam.
3. Development is the primary purpose I had planned to make this step and it doesn't seem that much feed back would be received from people.
4. The source files contains a series of aliases which, immature users may decide to extract and use for the wrong purpose - a.k.a. spamming, advertising
Not to say that this isn't possible otherwise, however I'm yet to receive a convining argument stating that the release is a positive thing for the mIRC scripting community.
scriptsurge (#script) is in no way liable for an misinformation as a result of this, please spare them the agony of questions. Instead direct them here - leave a comment.
